the trick-or-treat trail is being modified for 2024

With Hurricane Helene recovery still in the early phases in western NC, park staff across the state are joining efforts to aid our fellow North Carolinians in need. To maintain availability for deployment to the mountains, all staff-led programs and events at Weymouth Woods are on hiatus.

As a result, the Trick-or-Treat Trail will not occur as planned. In its place we will set up a SELF-GUIDED story walk so that you and your family can still come out to learn about the not-so-spooky creatures of Weymouth Woods!

Creepy Critter Crawl 2024

October 19th - October 31st

Take an adventure at Weymouth Woods, where trees have faces, owls speak in riddles, and spiders play hide and seek. Hike the 0.3-mile Bower’s Bog trail for this SELF-GUIDED activity to learn about some of our favorite spooky critters.

Geared for 3-10 year olds, but all are welcome to come any time the park gates are open, 8am-8pm.

We help Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve thrive.
